Amoeba – I don’t think so! University is only PART of my learning curve! Fellow bloggers are also VERY HIGH on that list!!

August 10, 2013

Ever wonder what it would be like to be exposed to only:  one existence, one opinion, one outlook, or just one mind-set? I believe that would be similar to being an amoeba. Seems I learned that somewhere, sometime.

The human species talks of the five senses. Some folks get along with only four … some less. I believe with university, as with blogging, you have a choice on what you want to see, hear, smell, taste, and feel.

TUNE-IN! TINE-OUT; both those characteristics can be good and bad. How much does one miss with tuning-out? I try not to miss anything, then I let my brain process that input and either save-it or sent it to the trash. Being tuned-out … how much does one miss??

University is like that for me. Being a bit older than most of my peers, I suffer from “too much information at times.” But if I pay attention, I get to experience a brand-new world. Why would I want to miss “stuff,” even if I really don’t like, approve or am confused by it. All, shows a different world I know so little about … but, my horizons do broaden. After-all, isn’t that why I came back to school?

That’s what blogging offers me – mental expansion. One gets to know, be exposed, hear, read, see, feel and taste (through referral) so much the world has to offer. Some blogs, hold no interest for me at all. Some, on the outset, appear to be written for some other audience, and then one little tid-bit will catch my eye, and send me down a path I’d never thought of before. I mean: “how kool is that?” A person can be exposed to people’s of the world with so many views, tastes and visions, I could never be connected to through just by the university itself.

That’s why I applaud anyone that wants to travel and be exposed to other cultures. The world we live in is so global; WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BE AN AMOEBA?

Thanks for visiting. Until next week!

Best!
